Renewable energy in Bangladesh

Renewable energy in Bangladesh refers to the use of renewable energy to generate electricity in Bangladesh. The current renewable energy comes from biogas that is originated from biomass, hydro power, solar and wind.

The main difference between fossil fuels with renewable energy or energy is the renewability of the source of energy, that is, the source to be used so as not to drain easily. The use of various sources of fossil fuels, such as natural gas, coal, mineral oil, etc., is easily dissipated. On the other hand, the use of renewable energy sources such as solar power, wind power, hydropower etc. is not easily wasted. To ensure the use and development of renewable energy or fuel in Bangladesh, the renewable energy policy came into force from December 7, 2015. By introducing the SREDA Act-2012, the Government of Bangladesh has identified solar power, wind power, hydropower, biomass, bio-fuels, geothermal, river currents, ocean waves, etc., by introducing the SREDA Act-2012. The program, under the government of Bangladesh in Bangladesh’s power sector by ২0২0 10 percent of fuels used in the production of renewable energy has set targets.
