Academy of Fine Arts and Literature New Delhi, India

Academy of Fine Arts and Literature, founded in 1975 by eminent writer Ajeet Cour and painter Arpana Caur, is a non-profit organisation. This is a principal centre of literary, art and cultural activities in Delhi. Besides holding a weekly talk on the philosophy of Gandhi for years now and series of lectures addressing other intellectual and academic interests, it organises monthly meets of poets of all languages since 38 years, Conference of SAARC Writers since 26 years, and free vocational training programs for girls of low income groups. It has a free library and reading hall with more than 5000 books, an exhibition gallery and 3 Museums : Ancient Miniature Paintings (approx 250) Museum, Museum of Tribal & Folk Art (approx 1000), and Arpana Caur’s paintings of different period, all with free entry from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily (except Sunday). Arpana Fine Arts Gallery which has been in existence since 23 years is primarily for the young, disabled and unknown artists.
